​The Collective is delighted to convene an interdisciplinary group for a salon on the role of privacy and the unaccountability of the self in the good life and a healthy society.

​Lowry Pressly (Assistant Professor of Political Science, Stanford University) will draw on his book The Right to Oblivion: Privacy and the Good Life to lay out his fresh account of privacy and elaborate upon unanswered questions in privacy discourse. His account builds on an eclectic mix of thinkers including Arendt, Nietzsche, and Borges. The Collective will then engage in a moderated discussion that will be wide-ranging and explore the implications of privacy on flourishing in the machine intelligence age, memory, leisure, moral responsibility, and a reenchanted worldview. Afterwards, we will leave plenty of time for cultivating intellectual friendship and festivities.

The Peregrine Collective hosted a salon on the role of the university in preparing people for an evolving economy amidst AI disruption. We convened an interdisciplinary group of stakeholders across academia and technology who explored how the structures and incentives of higher education correspond to the skills necessary to confront a dynamic economy and foster our unique human capabilities.

The Peregrine Collective was pleased to host a salon discussing soft power, the mechanisms of the societal renewal, and our individual responses to the structures of culture. We had a wide-ranging discussion that was both descriptive and prescriptive about the influence of technology, culture, and political dynamics on soft power and the mechanisms that facilitate its spread.
